We've both read it and loved it. Lorna read it straight through, something unusual for her.

I think the thing I like best about Promises, Promises is that not a single reader anywhere has ever said "but it needs a sequel!" Unlike all of Bakey's other books....sigh. I"ve just read yet another review of Lady Knight where the reviewer spends 3000 words raving about the book but says "So there is plenty of room for a sequel ...." and "IF there is a sequel".....

I think it's a tribute to a writer when folks want to see what happens next with the characters. (I don't mean to imply that Promises falls short in any way! )

I think Promises wrapped itself up nicely at the end, but the characters are fun enough to want to read about them again.

Oddly enough, PP is the one I explicity did tease about a sequel (see the PPS).

(Deb, I still haven't got my author's copies yet... )

Surely you mean the P.S., or are you suggesting there's a possibility of a book with mad Ermengarde as the main character? lol

Oops, you're correct! It's the PS, not the PPS. :welcome: As for mad Ermengarde and her own sequel...

No. I am not even remotely serious.
